Trans-Atlantic Exchange Rate Report for August 5th - 9th

For the week of August 5th to August 9th, we observed the changes in exchange rates among the Trans-Atlantic currencies. The Canadian dollar (orange) showed a positive increase, ending the week with a 1.05% gain. The Swiss franc (maroon) experienced the most significant fluctuations, spiking to around 2.40% on August 7th before dropping to 0.70% by the week's end. The Euro (blue) remained the most stable, with no drastic changes, closing the week with a 1.20% increase. The British pound (green) was the only currency to drop below its starting exchange rate but managed to recover slightly, ending the week with a modest 0.15% gain—the lowest among the four currencies.

The center line is a rolling three-month average. The upper and lower boundaries are the average plus and average minus one standard deviation, respectively, for the same three-month period.


Adding this week’s data to our historic trends graph reveals several notable developments. The Canadian dollar (orange), after a period of decline, has started to rebound and is now trending upwards within its median range. The Swiss franc (maroon) experienced a brief spike and continues its upward trend, remaining above its median. The Euro (blue) saw a significant spike at the start of August but is now showing signs of a downward trend. Lastly, the British pound (green) is trending slightly upwards at the end of the week, despite experiencing small fluctuations since the beginning of August. We will continue to monitor and add more data in the coming weeks.
